 Varela Hermanos was founded in Panama in 1908 by Spanish immigrant Jose Varela Blanco as a sugar mill that later began distillation in 1936. Today they use their own estate-grown sugar to produce their spirits.

Seco Herrerano is the traditional aguardiente of Panaman.

I'm from Costa Rica and here we have our own kind named cacique, and i think this is pretty similar because both are made from sugar cane, but this has more after taste and you can drink it in shots with a piece of lemon or mixed with anything you want, it's a very versatile spirit
