Proof66 Notes

g'Vine Floraison gin is one of the few gins that is distilled from wine grapes rather than grain. The flavor comes from the green ugni blanc grape flower, which EWG regards as a great departure from traditional gins and includes the botanicals ginger, liquorice, green cardamon, cassia bark, coriander, juniper berries, cubeb berries, nutmeg, and lime. The name "Floraison" is the French term for "June" for the June flowers they use to help give the gin its distinctive flavor and aroma.

3.7 stars very interesting stuff, the vine flavour dominates, fresh, intense, very different to any other gin i've ever tasted. good choice for a long drink, tiny bit of elderflower-syrup+citrus+mineral water and you have a very refreshing summer drink. sadly its way overpriced, would be an interesting alternative if it was at the price level of tanqueray/sapphire, especially to give wine drinkers an entry into the world of gin but wont recommend this at current price level.

Very very sweet for a gin. Recommended for "girly"drinks or to sway previous gin haters - but classic gin lovers will be disappointed.

This is sickeningly floral; it smells like a vase of dead flowers left out in the heat for a week or two. Add in something that smells like an orange Life-Saver gone horribly wrong and you have a gin whose best usage is serving to your enemies.

This one reminds me of 5 spice powder but bitter, pollen, and bitter alkaloid treebark - particularly the virola tree from South America which a ethnobotanist introduced me to one night. Thank God it did not have the same effect -I don't have 3 days to spare these days. Foul, bitter and evil tasting. Avoid.
