Sylvius gin is named for the doctor Franciscus la Boe Sylvius who in 1650 first registered the name "genievre" in pursuit of medicinals for the kidney and bladder. This would later become "gin." it is a traditional, genevere-styled gin, which we take to mean a heavier, malt barley grain base and lightly sweetened flavor.
