Proof66 Notes

Marie Brizard Poire William (or "William Pear") liqueur presents in a pale yellow and flavored with pears from eastern France. It uses pear brandy (or pear eau-de-vie) as the base rather than a neutral grain spirit, which should provide a more intense and fruit forward background for the pear infusion.

The Marie Brizard Company was founded in France in 1755 in the Bordeaux wine region.

Though my fondness of pears may color my rating a bit, I quite enjoy this stuff. It is perfectly balanced on the sweetness and tastes like a bite of a pear. Easily my favorite pear liqueur thus far. It is much sweeter and less nuanced than a pear brandy, but I find both this and a good pear brandy equally enjoyable- I would much rather mix this and sip the brandy. The price on this bottle is a good deal for what it is.
