Proof66 Notes

Savio Genepi is a style of spiced liqueur. The term "genepi" is a somewhat obscure term stemming from the plant artemisia glacialis that grows in the Alpine Mountains and often gives rise to the term "alpine liqueur" (itself a term used to describe liqueurs that have herbs from the mountains). It's also sometimes known as "glacier wormwood." According to the Valle d'Aosta tourism website, the traditional genepi (or "genepy") uses the glacialis as well as mugwort sap, and has balsam and bitter flavor characters and makes an "excellent digestive liqueur." The Savio expression presents in a very interesting square bottle with wooden top and bottom accents.
