Proof66 Notes

Tuaca liqueur is a combination of the family names of "Tuoni" and "Capena" who together craft this liqueur based upon brandy wine. The marketing website discusses a renaissance-era legend of a liqueur presented to Lorenzo the Magnificent of Florence, Italy. That recipe serves as the basis and inspiration for the modern-day Tuaca.

It's too expensive for being basically a strong schnapps, but better than other vanilla options like Navan or the gross Dekuyper vanilla. Good in tiki drinks, punches, or with soda. Decent cream soda flavor but a bit of the odd metallic chalkiness found in bad creme de cacao. Useful in things that demand vanilla but overpriced... maybe better to get a vanilla bean and make your own flavored syrup.

Pricey for what it is. Basically a not overly sweet vanilla liqueur. I could see using it with a stronger spirit for flavor and mellowing.

Sweet, slightly herbal flavor heavy on the vanilla. Mixed wonderfully with Gentleman Jack Tennessee Whiskey, of all things.

Decently made, somewhat complex. Not as cloying as an amaretto, Frangelico or similar liqueurs. Recommended as an alternative to the overpriced syrup their competition at Grand Marnier sells called Navan.
