Proof66 Notes

Koloa promises an "extremely well-balanced [rum] with a hint of caramel and vanilla and a long, smooth finish." Given all that this rum has going for it (Hawaiian rainwater, a base of crystallized sugar, birth in an an old-school pot still from 1947, a set of well-regarded sibling rums), we are more than a little intrigued.

Luis Ayala of Got Rum Magazine noted the aromas are much like a "pie bakery" and described the rum as "sweet and smooth."

Koloa rums are named for the Koloa plantation in Hawaii founded in 1835.

Caramel sweet smell. In rum and coke the sweetness comes through but is accompanied by a twist of cinnamon. Overall a good spiced rum
