Proof66 Notes

Ron Viejo de Caldas 8yr gold rum is the oldest of the aged rums offered by this label. From competition listings and various blog reviews, it appears to us that the 8yr Carta de Oro has been re-branded as simply "Grand Reserve."

Ron Viejo de Caldas was founded in 1927 by Ramon Badia and has evolved today into the "leading rum of Colombia." Their rums are aged in oak at 6,500 feet in an "ideal climate for perfect aging." (from Shaw Ross Imports)
