1876 Vodka

Bottle/Rating Data

Proof66 Notes

1876 Vodka is made from a base of corn grain, which implies to us a slightly sweeter and mixable flavor profile particularly good in fruit-forward cocktails. It's made in Texas and promises to "party like it's 1876." We presume that the name 1876 is a reference to the year in which Texas organized its constitution (it's sixth try being successful) after gaining its independence from Mexico in 1836 and whose laws still carry influence to this day.

The vodka is made by San Luis Spirits according to the 2013 filing with the federal Tax and Trade Bureau.

Used to drink Tito's vodka until I discovered 1876. Also a corn-based vodka from Texas, this is about half the price of Tito's and just an outstanding taste, whether in a vodka martini or vodka tonic. Sometimes find it on sale at $14.50 for 1.75l; usually sells for $19 for 1.75l. Great taste, a great price, and made in America. What else do you want????
