Proof66 Notes

The Deanston Virigin oak is aged in American oak that has not previously held any spirits (hence "virgin")... most scotch is aged in either sherry or ex-bourbon casks. According to Interbev, the Deanston Virgin Oak has body of "candied fruits with vanilla toffee and honey."

A brand to be reckoned with, these guys are turning out some amazing scotch. you can fully taste the new oak in this spirit, the canned fruits, not so much. For the price, it is a great addition to the bar. For those of you who like soft peat, this bottle might do you well to have. A tiny taste of honey as it swirls, as well as fermented fruit. Its thin, has a touch of heat, and as it goes down the toffee comes out.
