Bottle/Rating Data

Proof66 Notes

Jim Beam Bonded 100 Proof bourbon is a traditional bourbon that from the standard "bottled-in-bond" style that comes in at 100 proof...I delight for Beam enthusiasts who want something a little stiffer.

Jim Beam--today the largest bourbon producer in the United States (and since bourbon can only be legally made in the United States, the world)--was founded by Jacob Beam in the 1790s.

Some people consider 'challenging' whiskies to be complex and flavorful, being a journey to understand. I consider this challenging- to enjoy, that is. 100 proof or not, this hits your tongue like brimstone. The papery oak spice might be an enjoyable characteristic if the overwhelming corn sweetness wasn't there. It literally does taste like a higher proof beam. Something about it feels slightly more bearable than white label, but this should still only be used for shots if you're tryna get crunk. To which, it accomplishes.

This was a real disappointment. I like Jim Beam Black. Jim Beam Bonded entry is raw with a lot of heat The palate is .dominates with tobacco and leather. The finish is short, heated with hint oak and vanilla with a noticeable after burn. If I were blind folded, I would have never guess it was a Jim Beam product. This is expensive rotgut. Plain and simple. All 100 proof bourbons from Heaven Hill and Wild Turkey are much better for same price or less money.. There is no contest.

It's a nice bonded Bourbon that hits all the classic notes. That being said at $23 it is way too expensive for what you get, Evan Williams is a much better option to get your bonded fix.

BDanner (2015-08-17):
...as is the Old Granddad BIB.

Yankel W. (2015-09-07):
Bingo on EW and Grandad for price. However, makes me curious about J. Beam Bonded as it is apparently a full-bore Bourbon according to Tango.

Tango (2017-01-20):
This bourbon was undrinkable for me. I poured it out . I rarely ever do that.
