Proof66 Notes

Pike Creek whisky was first introduced in 2012 as part of a handcrafted movement. It is aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels (as our most scotch and Irish whiskey) and then given a final resting in port wine barrels to add color and complexity to the spirit. The brand is owned by Pernod-Ricard.

Nose is complex with foreground of oak , honey, vanilla, caramel, pipe tobacco with port in the Background.Entry is smooth with acidic sweet fruit grape . The finish is sweet .heated cough medicine-like fruit menthol favors.. The nose is ecstasy, but the overall delivery is disappointing too much like cough medicine A failed experiment with port barrels. There are much better Canadians in this price range.Original Pike Creek was wonderful. Something has been lost with port barrel finish.
