Proof66 Notes

Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey is a blended whiskey bottled in what we would call the "Maryland style," in that the rye grain is softened by the introduction of other grains. In this case, instead of a single grain bill, they blend corn, rye, and malt whiskey with "a small amount" of Spanish Oloroso sherry. This, according to the interview with the Kansas City Star (Anne Brockhoff), is a "Kansas City Whiskey," which they claim as a distinctive style.

This whisky was recommended to me by an employee at Brown Derby International in Springfield, Missouri. It deserves the highest rating; an enjoyable whisky. Glad to be able to find it, drink it. It's always great to find something that makes life more enjoyable.
