Proof66 Notes

Sonoma County Rye is made from a base of 100% rye in a celebration of the robust flavors of the rye grain (many other rye whiskeys are blended with other grains to soften the flavor). It is aged in both virgin charred oak barrels as well as "old wood" barrels (which we take to mean barrels that have been previously used to age other spirits).

Im only going four here because its really damn young neat or on the rocks. But in a changer! Fantastic rye flavor and the youthful alcohol burn is erased with a decent vermouth. Five years from now this distillery will be producing some magnificent rye. Reminds me a great deal of Catoctin Creek: both 100% rye, both grain-to-glass, but both very young.
